Beautiful, bright, deeply individual companions, raised with care in our family home and thoughtfully matched with theirs.
Current availability and future litter plans are best discussed directly. No online application form, just a proper conversation.

A small, considered program
We breed only a small number of Basenji litters, so puppy availability can change quickly. Rather than listing a puppy as though they are a product, we begin by talking with you about your household, lifestyle and hopes for life with a Basenji.
Call or email us to ask about current puppies, upcoming litter plans, timing and whether a Bakundu Basenji could be the right fit for your family.

Raised where life happens
Our puppies grow up as part of our home, not apart from it. They experience the everyday rhythm of people, voices, household sounds, gentle handling, rest, play and the small discoveries that build confidence over time.
That family-home beginning matters. It gives each puppy the opportunity to be known as an individual before we start thinking about the home that will suit them best.

A wonderful breed, for the right home
Basenjis are not a one-size-fits-all breed, and that is part of their charm. We want prospective families to understand the whole dog, not just fall for a beautiful puppy photograph.
They are exceptionally clever, curious and full of character. Training works best with patience, consistency and a sense of humour.
Basenjis often form deep bonds with their people, while still retaining the self-possessed nature that makes the breed unique.
A secure home environment, purposeful exercise and sensible enrichment help a Basenji thrive in family life.
They may not bark like many dogs, but Basenjis have plenty to say, including their well-known yodel or “baroo”.
From the Bakundu home
These are the moments that happen between the milestones: curious ears, sleepy piles, first friendships and plenty of personality.
